SpaceFields has raised $5 million (about Rs 42 crore) in its pre-Series A round led by Globaz Technologies, with participation from Rockstud Capital, Venture Catalysts, Nithin Kamath’s Rainmatter, Burla Angel Network, Faad Capital, SIDBI, O2 Angels, MeitY Startup Hub, among others.

Prior to this round, SpaceFields had raised $1.3 million in seed funding from Jamwant Ventures, HVB 88 Angels, and others in 2024.

The proceeds will be used to scale manufacturing, secure key regulatory certifications, and expand its team across engineering, operations, and business functions.

Founded in 2021 by Apurwa Masook, Rounak Agrawal, and Sudarshan Samal, SpaceFields develops rocket propulsion systems for defence and aerospace applications. It has built solid-fuel powered propulsion systems for UAVs, rockets, and spacecraft.

The startup has already secured four defence contracts through the Ministry of Defence’s iDEX initiative and has been granted patents for four indigenously developed propulsion technologies.

As part of the round, SpaceFields and lead investor Globaz will collaborate to develop critical, sovereign, dual-use technologies for India’s defence and aerospace value chain. Globaz is a Delhi NCR-based company specialising in design, manufacturing, assembly, and testing of aerospace and defence electronics.
