Talking about Shagun’s education, she added “I have done my post graduation i.e. M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry from SIES College which is located at Sion in Mumbai in the year 2023. I was always fond of films and was always active in the cultural activities since my school time as well as in my college. As soon as I finished my final semester exams of M.Sc. I got an offer via casting director on Instagram to audition for this character and I thought to give it a shot as I always like to take risks in life. After 2 to 3 rounds of audition, I was locked for Zoya’s character. I feel lucky to have got this opportunity and it makes me believe that indeed Mumbai is a city of dreams”.
When we asked about her family, she said “I live with my mom, dad and an elder brother. Initially when I told my family about the opportunity I had got, my family was in shock. Although my mother supported me for the same but my father was against my decision as he wanted me to become a lecturer at a degree college. My mother too wanted the same, the reason being both of them had a strong academic background as both my parents are PhD holders. But with time, they immensely supported me with my decision to enter Bollywood”.
Furthermore, she stated “I signed this movie just for one reason and that was, it’s based on a social cause i.e. women empowerment and population control. Although I’ve been getting death threats, rape threats continuosly till date, I’m hopeful that all these hate will one day turn into love”.
She added, “I have a deep connection with my native place, Ballia and I feel so proud to represent Ballia as after Siddhant Chaturvedi who is a great actor, I’m the second person to debut in the Bollywood Film Industry. I believe a lot of talent is still hidden in Ballia and I hope that with this bold step of mine to enter Bollywood, talents from Ballia will definitely step out of their homes and prove that we’re no more less than anyone!
