Balasaheb Would’ve Hugged PM Modi for Operation Sindoor: Shah

Nanded, May 26 – Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that if Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray were alive today, he would have embraced Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, a diplomatic initiative to combat terrorism on a global stage.

Speaking at a public event in Maharashtra’s Nanded, Shah took a strong jab at the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT), criticizing them for mocking India’s multi-party delegations visiting various countries. These delegations were labeled a “baraat” (wedding procession) by the Uddhav faction — despite the fact that their own party members are involved.

“The Centre has sent seven multi-party delegations to 33 world capitals to expose Pakistan’s terror agenda and showcase India’s zero-tolerance stance against terrorism,” Shah said, highlighting the national importance of the initiative.

He also reflected on the Shiv Sena’s political shifts. The Sena-BJP alliance, strong for decades, fractured in 2019. In 2022, the party officially split, with Eknath Shinde’s faction gaining the official Shiv Sena name and symbol, and joining the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance. Meanwhile, Uddhav Thackeray’s faction remains with the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).
