New Delhi: Business group Lord’s Mark Industries has been awarded a contract to set up an LED-based smart solar street lighting system in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, ahead of the much-anticipated Ayodhya Ram Temple inauguration, the company said.
This project is a part of the larger ‘Ayodhya Solar City Program’ led by the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA), under which the company will also install similar systems in various other cities of Uttar Pradesh.
Under the multi-crore contract, Lord’s Mark Industries is tasked with the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of these smart solar street lights, equipped with advanced LiFePO4 batteries. The contract includes a comprehensive 5-year warranty along with operations and maintenance services.
“We are pleased to get the opportunity to install smart solar street lighting at Ayodhya,” said Sachidanand Upadhyay, Managing Director of Lord’s Mark Industries Limited. “Our engagement with UPNEDA will demonstrate the effective synergy between the government and public sector in spreading the benefit of solar electrification among the larger population of the country,” he added. Upadhyay further noted that this project in Uttar Pradesh, known for its vast area and dense population, will set a benchmark for solar energy deployment in India.
“The project will set an example for deploying solar energy in India. Rolling out the exercise with lighting up Ayodhya truly marks an auspicious beginning,” he stated.
