HelpingAI was founded a year ago by Som Jaiswal, Varun Gupta, and Abhay Kaul. At the time, they were building a mental health chatbot but relied on third-party AI APIs. The results? Disappointing. The AI responses felt generic and emotionless. It lacked real emotional intelligence to understand human struggles. Instead of helping people, it often left them feeling unheard.
That’s when they asked: Why isn’t AI more human-like?
Rather than waiting for a solution, they decided to build it themselves. HelpingAI was born—to create AI that doesn’t just process words but understands and responds with real emotions.

Building something truly groundbreaking is never easy. The team faced technical challenges—emotion recognition in AI is a complex problem. They struggled with resources and funding, constantly working against the odds. They had to prove that Emotionally Intelligent AI is the future, at a time when most AI products focused only on efficiency. But their belief never wavered. Hard work, perseverance, and a relentless vision helped them push forward.
A Milestone Achievement: Launching on Product Hunt
All the effort paid off when HelpingAI launched on Product Hunt, a global platform for innovative tech products. Within 24 hours, they gathered 1,000+ users. Startups lined up to integrate their API into real-world products. The response proved that AI with emotions wasn’t just an idea—it was the future. HAI Hacks 1.0: Where Emotion Meets Innovation

HAI Hacks 1.0 (March 27-30) is an invite-only hackathon designed for those who want to create AI that thinks, feels, and interacts like humans.
