TOEFL PBT, i.e., the pen and paper-based test, is only available for those locations where the internet facilities are not available, including the cases where candidates face several challenges while attempting these tests online. On the other hand, TOEFL iBT, the internet-based test, is preferred in places where there is easy access to the internet and computers. Most universities and schools in the top countries such as the USA, Canada, Australia and the UK.

PTE

PTE stands for Pearson Test of English, and it was launched recently in 2009. It is a computer-based test, and it is available in two formats, PTE General and PTE Academic. PTE Academic test is taken for studying, work, or immigration purposes while PTE General improves English language proficiency. Popular countries where the universities accept PTE scores during the admission process include Australia, the UK and European countries.
