Zomato Introduces ‘Order Scheduling’ for Pre-Planned Deliveries Across Major Cities

Zomato, led by Deepinder Goyal, has launched a new feature called “Order Scheduling,” designed to enhance convenience for users. This feature allows customers to plan and schedule their food deliveries up to two days in advance. Whether it’s for office lunches, gatherings, or daily routines like coffee breaks, Zomato users now have full control over when their food arrives, making meal planning easier than ever.

The feature is currently available in 35,000 restaurants across 30 major cities, including Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Pune, giving users flexible delivery options.

How Zomato’s Order Scheduling Works:

With this new feature, users can schedule deliveries anytime between two hours to two days in advance. Simply go to the ‘Schedule’ option under Zomato’s Delivery tab, select a preferred time, and Zomato will display available slots. In case the chosen time slot is full, alternative slots will be suggested. After selecting a date and time, customers can proceed to confirm their order.

If plans change, users have the option to cancel their order up to three hours before the scheduled delivery time. This flexibility offers an added layer of convenience for busy schedules.

Benefits for Restaurants:

This new tool not only benefits customers but also Zomato’s restaurant partners. By enabling pre-scheduled orders, restaurants can better manage their operations during slower periods and ensure a more consistent flow of orders. The feature integrates seamlessly into the restaurant’s existing setup, requiring no additional staff training or changes to operations.

Additionally, restaurants can choose which menu items are available for scheduled orders, optimizing stock and reducing the likelihood of items being unavailable during peak times. This helps restaurants better manage their resources while ensuring a smooth customer experience.

Reliability and Safeguards:

To ensure seamless delivery, Zomato has implemented strict safeguards for its Order Scheduling feature. Only restaurants with a proven track record for punctual service and high order availability are included. Zomato sends proactive notifications to restaurants ahead of time, ensuring they are prepared to fulfill scheduled deliveries.

Zomato’s Expansion and Customer-Centric Approach:

The Order Scheduling feature was initially tested in select cities with high-order volumes. Following successful trials, Zomato has rolled it out to a broader audience across multiple cities and price ranges. This move is part of Zomato’s ongoing strategy to enhance customer satisfaction by offering more flexibility and convenience in food delivery services.

With the launch of Order Scheduling, Zomato continues to innovate and prioritize its users, bringing efficiency and control to the food delivery process. Whether you’re planning a large event or need a daily meal at a precise time, Zomato’s latest feature is set to make food delivery even more convenient.
