Founders of Sharechat Secure $3 Million Funding for General Autonomy, Their Robotics Startup

India Quotient, Elevation Capital, along with several angel investors, have contributed to the funding round. This development follows nearly a year since their departure from executive roles at the social media unicorn.

The ShareChat cofounders, Farid Ahsan and Bhanu Pratap Singh, have successfully secured $3 million in seed funding for their robotics startup, General Autonomy.

The goal of this dynamic duo is to revolutionize the future of factories by focusing on AI-driven machines, aiming to automate the most challenging aspects of labor workflows in manufacturing facilities. Joining the funding initiative are notable figures such as Zetwerk cofounder Srinath Ramakkrushnan, Livspace cofounder Ramakant Sharma, and ShareChat cofounder Ankush Sachdeva.

Before leaving ShareChat, Singh, as a cofounder, also served as the CTO, while Ahsan, in addition to being a cofounder, held the COO role. The third ShareChat founder Ankush Sachdeva continues to be the CEO of the social media unicorn.

“Our mission is to revolutionise the future of factories! Factories are complex puzzles, and automation is the key to seeing the full picture, leading to safer, [more] efficient, and standardised production… With a vision to make mass manufacturing agile and distributed like software development, we’re in Bengaluru but working globally,” Fareed Ahsan posted on X.
