Alpino Raises $1.2 Million and Onboards Shilpa Shetty as Brand Ambassador

Alpino, a health-focused food brand that gained widespread attention on Shark Tank India, has successfully raised $1.2 million in its first funding round. Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty joins the company not only as its brand ambassador but also as a key investor. This funding round saw participation from prominent investors, including Paresh Ghelani and several angel investors from Aashar Capital.

About Alpino’s Mission & Products
Founded in 2016 by six friends—Chetan Kanani, Hiren Sheta, Umesh Gajera, Priyank Vora, Milan Gopani, and Mahatva Sheta—Alpino aims to make healthy eating enjoyable with its protein-rich products. The brand offers a variety of nutritious options such as peanut butter, super rolled oats, super muesli, and the world’s first peanut protein isolate powder. Over the next two years, Alpino plans to expand its portfolio with over 20 new products.

Shilpa Shetty, a long-time fan of Alpino’s peanut butter, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership: “I’ve always believed in living a balanced life. Alpino’s philosophy of making healthy eating fun resonates with me, and their natural peanut butter has been a staple in my home.”

Overcoming Setbacks and Growing Stronger
Last year, Alpino faced a major setback when a fire at their Surat warehouse led to losses exceeding ₹2 crore, halting operations for six months. However, the brand made a strong recovery with the launch of “Alpino 2.0,” achieving record-breaking revenues and demonstrating its resilience.

Expansion Plans
Alpino plans to use the funds to expand its offline presence, enhance international growth, and drive product innovation. With a growth rate of over 150% this year, the brand is already a top seller on e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart and is available at over 6,000 retail touchpoints across India, including major chains like Reliance, Metro Wholesale, and Godrej Nature’s Basket. Alpino also has a presence in over 10 countries worldwide.

The founders aim to make Alpino a ₹500 crore brand in the next two years, with Shilpa Shetty’s involvement strengthening the brand’s commitment to making India a protein-rich nation without compromising on taste. CEO Chetan Kanani stated, “Shilpa’s passion for fitness and love for our products makes her the perfect ambassador for Alpino.”

Paresh Ghelani, a key investor and advisor, sees Alpino as a movement toward healthier living, stating, “Alpino’s founders have a passion for making high-quality, accessible nutrition, and I am excited to support them in making healthy eating an integral part of life.”

Together with Shilpa Shetty, Alpino is determined to bring protein-rich products to every kitchen in India, ensuring that health and nutrition are accessible to all.
