Ola’s AI arm Krutrim has taken its consumer-facing assistant Kruti offline, with the service currently inaccessible across web and mobile platforms, according to multiple media reports.
The development comes as the Kruti app is no longer available on app stores, while its web interface is not functional. On opening the website, users see a message that reads, “We’ll be back soon. Kruti AI is currently under maintenance. We’re working on something great and will be back shortly,” which indicates a service level disruption.
The assistant also appears to be non-functional within Ola’s ecosystem.
Kruti was launched in 2025 as an agentic AI assistant built on Krutrim’s in house model Krutrim V2, a 12 billion parameter model, and was designed to execute tasks such as cab bookings, bill payments, and food orders.
However, Ola or Krutrim has not issued any official statement on the outage.
According to an The Economic Times report, the company’s next model Krutrim 3, planned as a multi billion parameter system trained using a mix of in house and IndiaAI GPU clusters, has also seen its development stall.
The outage comes at a time when Krutrim is grappling with broader challenges, including reported leadership churn and execution issues, raising fresh uncertainty around its AI roadmap. The company had also laid off over 150 employees in two phases last year.
The outage highlights the broader challenges facing Krutrim, mirroring execution issues in Ola’s core ride-hailing business and Ola Electric, which has seen a sharp decline in both market share and valuation. For founder Bhavish Aggarwal, the simultaneous pressure across ventures raises questions about focus, execution depth, and the sustainability of his multi-sector ambitions.
