The Sweet Change Raises ₹1.7 Crore Pre-Seed Funding Led by Rebalance

Natural sweetener startup The Sweet Change has secured ₹1.7 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Rebalance, with participation from investors associated with the IAN Angel Fund. The newly raised capital will help the company strengthen its distribution network, introduce new products, and accelerate growth in India’s rapidly expanding sugar alternatives market.

Founded in 2024 by Manvi Agnihotri and Sheen Hitaishi, The Sweet Change focuses on developing healthier sugar substitutes using monk fruit, a naturally sweet ingredient known for its low-calorie profile. The company’s products combine monk fruit with allulose and prebiotic guar fibre, while avoiding erythritol, artificial additives, and fillers.

The startup has witnessed impressive traction since its launch. According to the company, it has generated more than ₹1.69 crore in revenue and fulfilled over 15,000 customer orders within its first year of operations. The company also reported an 84% compounded month-on-month growth rate over the last three months.

A major growth driver has been the launch of its sweetener drops in March 2026. Following the product introduction, monthly revenue reportedly increased from ₹8 lakh to ₹50 lakh, highlighting growing consumer demand for healthier sugar replacement options. The company further claims to maintain gross margins of 75% and has emerged as one of the leading sweetener brands on Amazon India.

India’s sugar substitute market is estimated to be worth more than $650 million, creating significant opportunities for brands focused on healthier nutrition choices. The Sweet Change aims to capitalize on this trend by building a diverse portfolio of natural sweeteners that allow consumers to reduce sugar intake without compromising on taste.

Investor Rebalance, an early-stage accelerator and angel investment community, typically backs pre-seed and seed-stage startups with investments of up to $250,000. Since its inception in 2019, Rebalance has supported 30 startups, with women-led ventures accounting for a significant share of its portfolio.

With growing awareness around health, diabetes management, and sugar reduction, The Sweet Change is positioning itself as a key player in India’s evolving healthy food and beverage ecosystem. The latest funding round is expected to strengthen its market presence and support its next phase of expansion.
